The front end from a: GSXR500/650/1000 or a Yamaha R1/R6 will bolt right on to a CX500 with a $180 stem kit. This improves unsprung weight, overall weight, better suspension, better brakes, and better looks all at once.

I may have to do this.

I know the pain. Was looking at upgrading the storage on my KLR. Have you seen how expensive milk crates are? Let alone trying to find one!

Best take i heard about the death of the KLR was “Well I haven’t seen a new milk crate in like a decade....maybe they had to stop making the KLR cause we ran out of milk crates.” and I don’t think he’s too far off from the truth.

(He says, having never put a milk crate on his KLR)

(He did, however, modify a 30$ scooter case from amazon)

(He also crashed the KLR off road with the 30$ case bolted to the rack. It surprisingly did just fine)

(He actually has no plans to get rid of like a 36L top case he got for 30$ that seems hardy enough to take a few falls)

i mean. top cases arent ment to fall. you are thinking of the ally adventure boxes which are NOT $30.

Yeeeeeaaaaahhhhhh......so the mounting alone for side and top cases that can take the blow properly are like nearly a grand and the cases included are over 50% of the cost of my bike......I’m fine buying a few scooter cases and ammo cases for it. It’s fine.
