Tangentially related: Yesterday was the busiest I’ve ever seen my airport. Today is quite possibly the least busy ever.

Day before TG is the busiest day of the year. We were at DFW today and yes, it was pretty slow. Still some good spots, though.

It was a pretty big difference for me from past years. P reviously, I worked in the dispatch office and t his was my first year in Air Ops. But still, I don’t ever recall seeing traffic like I did last night, both on the roadways and the airfield.
B etween the crowds and the (much needed) torrential rain throughout the night, I barely made it home with my eyes open. I walked through my front door, literally poured water out of my shoes, cracked open a beer, then immediately fell asleep on the couch.
I just need to keep reminding myself that a 70+ hour workweek is wonderful with Christmas a mere month away.
