Well, then I wonder why this is several times more expensive? How’s Porsche even selling any cars if they only have the same performance and quality as Kia does but for a lot more money ?

I must admit though... I used to hate red interiors but then I saw the light. Red leather interiors are the best possible color. But the right choice remains, as always, cloth or any other textile .

Dark red interiors are good. Light/bright red interiors are a little too obnoxious. I’ve seen a bright red vinyl interior, and if you’re used to a bright red modern interior, that red vinyl is like staring into a stoplight at point blank.

Truthfully, I’d much rather have the Stinger, plus I find it to be far more attractive than the Panamera .
That it’ s 85 % of the car at 35% of the cost doesn’t hurt, either .

To be fair, the Stinger GT is actually nicer and has better performance than the base Potatomera.
The base Potatomera has an absolutely miserable 3.6L V6 with a whopping 296HP (now bumped to a whole 306!) and stickers at a completely batshit $86,300 . For a fucking V6 with absolutely zero options.
You can build a GT2 into a Potatomera killer for the price of a base Potatomera, in other words. And out of the box it will beat a car that costs twice as much.

Yes but this isn’t a normal potato, it ’ s a hybrid potato.
Though comparing them is kind of pointless... I like my car but it’s simply not as luxurious.
That said, the biggest issue the stinger GT has is that it wasn’t sold as a hybrid... it has so much potential to be one!

As is currently specced, that Panamera mirrors my stinger when it comes to options... Yes, it’s a Hybrid, so it’s got more power, but it’s two million pesos as it sits, I paid 650,000 for my car.
A bargain if you ask me!

U h, yeah. I’ve been in both. Basically back to back.
The idea that the Stinger GT is any less “luxurious” or “not as good” as the Potatomera is just pure brand delusion. Period. Porsche does not have magical unicorn leather, and quite frankly, I have found their plastic inferior to some of Hyundai/Kia’s - at least in the high end stuff . By the time you get better materials and a decent engine , the Potatomera is well into the 130-140 range. (And then there’s the oil changes... where the oil costs more than the labor.)
That said, the biggest issue with the Stinger GT isn’t the drivetrain. It’s trying to sell a $50k Kia period. Yes, the drivetrain needs improvement. But even then, they’re still fighting the uphill battle on brand recognition. On top of that, the in-model spread is too great. It’s 32k to 55 k - that’s a massive swing at that price point. (Similarly priced and marketed cars, the swing between bottom and top tends to be much narrower.)
If they’d put it out there at $32k-45k instead, and put the 3.3 base below 40, I’m convinced it’d be flying off the lot. That makes it a VERY attractive cross-shop against not just BMW but Buick (Regal, LaCrosse,) and Cadillac (ATS, CTS) which would be a lot more potential customers. Most of which would be easier to sell to and finance.

Well, in Mexico they sell for a lot less. I paid like 35k for mine and it’s the GT2. I think that the issue of brand recognition is mostly in America and Europe, developing markets (like Latin America, the Middle East, and many parts of Asia) still don’t have a negative notion around Kia like the US or Europe do. Granted, most possible clients , live in America and Europe, so it is an uphill battle, but I think they’re improving... everso slowly... their parent company hasn’t been great at improving dealership experience.
If the Stinger sold with a hybrid, it could show off Kia as a real threat in the performance area (where BMW’s 440i, Audi’s S4, and Merc’s C43, have been missing an opportunity).
All I have to say is: EMISSIONS! CITY MPG!
Sure, the Stinger GT has a great engine, but it’s a thirsty one! A small hybrid set up could cure one of the bigger issues of city driving: the MPG ! BMW, Audi, and Merc should be jumping on the opportunity! Also, here hybrids don’t pay road taxes.... so a consumer might want a fast, RWD sedan and not find one that is affordable given the constrains. Enter the hybrid one!
In the end someone in a Panamera Hybrid will save a lot of money i n taxes compared to someone in something like an M550i; even if it’s cheaper.
