I still need to do the driver’s side door, the front half of the floorboards, the firewall, and probably something with the underside of the h ood.

How many hours of work was that? I need to do this on my MR2. Every time I autocross it, 3 new squeaks and/or rattles develop throughout the cabin.
Better speakers were on my list, but any bass would shake the interior apart even at mid-volume these days :P

Oooh, actual mass-loaded vinyl?

Cuts big holes in hood

I’ve done everything but the roof in my Ranger with sound deadening material. It’s as quiet as a Mercedes inside now.

Could you link me to the sound deadening material again? The link from last time didn’t work.

Well look at you. The Volvo experience has you addicted to luxury now.

I know the Volvo is expensive, but do you really need to part out the Miata to afford repairs?

Re moves airbags > Adds hundreds of pounds of sound deadening > Car with no roof

That solid door thunk is amazing, isn't it?

Not too many. Remove all seats, and carpeting, clean and vacuum floors, apply first layer, apply second layer. You could easily do it in a day if you did it all at once

You're on to me

Exactly.
To be fair t his has had a massive impact on the sound system

Yes. I love the little thing. It's completely invisible, and adds so much

What/how much amp you got behind it? I sold an old small alpine amp (letter-size but 2 in. thick) that pushed around 70w bridged, which on a budget 10" sub actually delivers a very nice lowend for casual listening, and might just go the light sub+tiny amp route in my new car aswell.

Kenwood Kac m 3001. I've got it bridged for the Sub, then component speakers for the other two channels. Works reaaaaally well

Used to sound like a tin can, it’s great! So a funny side effect of going nuts on the doors with sound deadening material...when the defrost or floor fan is on, air blows out from under the door handles... It’s the strangest thing. I’m not complaining though, when I remote start the car and leave the defrost on high it thaws the door handles!

Nice! Super compact amps too, and well hidden :P
