How do you folks  do it? This is the first time I’ve had snow tires/wheels. I took the stock set to the manual car wash the other night and gave them a good cleaning and now they’re in the basement. Do I need to cover them up or anything?

I’ve always just stacked them up, with the outside facing up.

i stack mine so that the tread doesnt touch the ground.
I give them a good clean and seal, and then just stack them up. In the spring, I do a quick wipe down, inflate to needed pressures, and away we go

I’ve always just stacked them like you have, with some care to avoid metal on metal contact.  You already cleaned them up, so I think you’re set!

I stacked mine in a column with cardbord in between each wheel/tire, then cover them in a tarp.

My first set of tires came with these, been using them ever since. Wrapped them and they’re just stacked in my locker.

I leave mine in my garage. I have them covered and on top of some plastic bins to keep them off the ground.

I now just put them in huge plastic bags and stack them uotside up in the cellar. When I had a garage, I hung them on the wall using 4 contraptions made from hardwood, metal band, and a large screw.

I mounted that in the garage, keeps them up and out of the way.

just put them in black garbage bags. That will help prevent  them from dry rotting over time

I stack mine in either a corner of the garage or the crawl space with a layer of cardboard between each one so the lips dont rub.

Maybe a layer on top so dust doesn’t get on them.

That’s pretty sweet actually - it’d make your garage look pretty badass too I bet :)

Lots of vertical stackers here... personally, I’m a horizontal stacker. I put the wheels at an angle so they’re sitting on the corner of the rubber - the first wheel leans against the wall and the rest lean against each other. No idea if it’s ideal or not but I n ever thought twice about it.

I just stack them up, either in the shed or in the garage on one of those cheap moving dollies (so I can easily move the stack of tires out of the way when it’s inevitably where I need to be).

The dolly is a good idea.

I have a dedicated corner in my shed that I stack them up in. The last set lasted until they aged out.

I kind of stumbled on it by chance (the dolly was sitting there when I was changing wheels one fall) and it has been very handy. Well worth the $9 or whatever from harbor freight to do .
