What they really should have done is incorporated the drink maker into the regular old Keurig machine.

I’ve been doing this for years. Just empty half a bottle of Jameson into the little reservoir, add a coffee pod, and hit the button.

Make sure the temp is turned way down, though.

From my stand point it’s a ridiculous idea.

So $300+ for a machine and $4 a drink.

Erm, no thank you.

Granted all of the stuff below is U.K. centric but the prices above for the machine and drinks are crazy.

I can get eight bottles (500ml) of Stella Cidre cider for £8 and four cans (500ml) of Bass beer for £4.50.

The machine alone works out at £230, that’s 230 bottles (500ml) of Cidre or about 200 cans (500ml).

As for the cocktails, if your into cocktails, surely you’d get the bottles and mix your own rather than have pod re-constituted pre-mixed stuff.

Even if you don’t want to mix your own you can buy them pre-mixed by the maker for £1-2 a can of 250ml-300ml. That’s 2-3 drinks for the price of one pod.

Precisely.  There are lots of pre-mixed drink options if you can’t be bothered to keep a liquor cabinet (like a dorm room) . I just can’t see an advantage in these pods. A s piced cider or hot cocoa pod if you already have a Keurig hot machine, I can see. But this just seems like a solution in search of a problem.
