i bought quite a bit of stuff from summit
A set of trickflow aluminum cylinder heads, 195cc intake ports and 2 inch intake valves. These things are absolute units.
intake valves the size of ur mom
and a set of scorpion 1.6 fuller roller rocker arms.
comp big mutha thumpr cam (thicc boi)
and a weiand street warrior intake which was surprisingly more aggressive than i thought it would be considering the price.
not pictured is an engine stand a cylinder hone

Are you putting a small block in that Alfa?

I am guessing it’s going in his Jaguar!

I’m extremely jealous.

I am voting for the Alfa, though the twin cam is a sweet motor. I have never seen a Spider with a V8 swap, wonder if it fits. Also, if it is not going in the Alfa the picture is an awful tease.

Can’t wait to hear it. It’s probably going to sound like a caged demon.

Yours will be faster but my mechanic has the 4.2 purring like a kitten. I’ve enjoyed driving it quite a bit lately.

Im curious how that cam will work. They have a super nice idle from youtube videos. I looked at putting one in my 68 camaro when I had the motor out a few years ago, but went with a Z/28 30/30 cam.

that should make for a nice peppy little engine......... you going to run flat tappet, or go with a roller set up?....... those flat tappets are kinda finicky on how you break them in, especially with good springs, and higher ratio roller rockers (watch what it is you are doing)..........

i got flat tappet lifters so we’ll see how it goes

best of luck........

not super finicky, make sure you have a break in oil with zinc, that's critical, but then just a couple of cycles of letting the engine run at 2000-3000 rpm for 20 mins. Vary the rpm during that process but no sudden snaps just gradual changes. Do this 2 or 3 times, change the oil and its broke in then.

yeah, a good zddp additive helps, and usually if you let the engine fall under 200o rpm anywhere in the first 20 min the cam is toast...... MOST of the time that is about all you need, BUT with aftermarket aluminium heads, they usually put GOOD springs, with higher spring pressures(for moderate roller set ups) , and higher ratio rockers multiply that extra pressure at the face of lifter/cam lobe. those two things are real mean to a brand new cam on break in.......... most older stocker iron stuff, with just moderate valve springs you can get away with a lot more.......... i usually cheat now adays and put on a set of 1.3 roller s for just breakin(scorpion makes a set) , to get some low stress low pressure run time on the lobes . i had bought the 1.3 set when i was trying to get a large duration roller, but the lifts were all too much for the heads i was looking at, and thought i would be clever and just lower the lift, and keep the duration+lobe separation. worked well enough........
but YES, you are right, so long as you pay attention to the details it SHOULD break in without much hassle..........
