Other than the free part you pretty much described the circuit for acts like this.
Especially bands that swapped members around in different numbers to the point they can stage three hair metal acts with two extra guys nobody is going to remember weren’t there.

I saw them as an opener to Zakk Wylde’s band at a minor league baseball field as part of a hard rock and food truck festival put on by a local rock station. The headliners for the fest were Clutch, Alice Cooper, and Twisted Sister. They got like 3rd billing. Tickets were $45. So yeah, been washed up .
