Make sure you get a
VR Ready
hard
drive. Wouldn’t want some
soft
drive, that can’t handle VR
!

But is it Y2K ready?

My dumbass thought you were serious, my understanding of c omputers is comparable to what most people know about how a car works.

Probably not, fools think it’s over, but it could hit us again any minute!

This would be the car equivalent
of like... AWD ready gas or something.

If you want a better running computer, take everything in the windows folder and put it in the recycle bin. This way, the files will be recycled and they will come back with less bloat and be organized for faster access. A bunch of boxes will pop up if you do this, but you can easily click them away. Don’t even read them, just hit the X. They’re there because they didn’t want noobs to mess up the procedure, but it’s hard to do that nowadays.
If your computer still runs like crap after this, you can always download more RAM.

Maybe they’re saying it because of some read/write speed requirement? I know next to nothing about VR systems.

Pretty sure that a RAM dude

That seems accurate

Nah, the requirements for VR really aren’t that
high at all.

Thats not as bad as I expected. I could do it with an external GPU as I have thunderbolt. Am I going to? No I'd buy a crappy project car.

No, no, this isn’t “AWD ready gas.” It’s so much worse.
The automotive equivalent would be if cars had labels saying “gasoline ready” or “has 4 tires” or “moves under it’s own power” from the factory. Except plastered across the windshield. Both sides, so everyone around you knows it’s “GASOLINE READY” and also so you never forget it yourself.
I mean seriously. I have seen fucking “VR READY” slapped on MICE, slapped on KEYBOARDS, slapped on 10 YEAR OLD COMPUTER CASES. Do they have additional USB3 ports up front? HDMI port perhaps? Nope! But they do have a label proclaiming they’re ready for Faceboculus to beam right-wing propaganda directly to your eyeballs!

Basically hard drive speed isn’t going to make much difference for gaming/VR because even a really fast hard drive is far too slow for real-time rendering. Ideally you want everything you need to render the scene on the graphics card’s RAM before you start, or it will take too long to get there. Even system RAM isn’t really fast enough for graphics purposes. A faster drive should cut your load times, but normally has a pretty limited effect once you are actually playing.

or just run VR on integrated graphics!

Whoops, wrong video, this is the one with the guy doing it on a Ryzen 3 and no GPU.

Well he said it wouldn’t work on Intel HD so I guess that’s out. Kinda a shame because I know my processor can handle it.
