happen. Went to a few points
I had made via Google maps to make sure they were worthy. Crossed a few off and even added one I just happened to run across. My car has been having some stupid vibration I can’t figure out, so we took the Mommy Wagon and had an absolute blast. Here are a few photos of the fun
And yes Oppo there will be some way points only visi t able via dirt roads, but don’t worry, for those of you with non dirt road cars most will be paved, but gotta get some dirt on them rigs. Plus finding out CA58 is mostly repaved was a beautiful sight ;)
Surprisingly super clean restrooms
Quite the view
Smoke screen engaged
Beautiful lake
The Mommy Wagon is quite the champ
Pano
“Artistic”
Wagon fever is getting to me... I just want my RS6 C6 Avant
You don’t need to see behind you, everyone back there is losing anyway
This car really does hold onto dirt
The smoke did make for amazing photos though
Cows
So many more I need to go check out...

California is so immense, yeah it has 30 million people, but it’s bigger than Germany. Lots of varied geography and cool roads. It’ll be an awesome rally.

Yeah, it’ll still be a day rally, but cover a good swath of southern and central CA

Yes! I will 100% invite you on the next scouting outing. I have a good number of way points set up via Google maps and plenty of i deas thanks to Dusty.
I could use a hand figuring out the god awful vibration coming from my car. And I really need to not forget my oil pan again. I’ll get that and Taylor his money tomorrow lol. Let him know.

Hmm...
Is there a date set for this (or an approximate time)?
I’m on the wrong side of the country, but might be able to make something work if it’s timed right.

Do you have a date in mind? If it involves any PCH, will want to avoid school holidays (and therefore road hogs).

Missed this when you posted it. Scouting trips are definitely way more fun than one expects. And I too discovered a few checkpoints just by coming across them while scouting. Just make sure they can be found online via google search or something so there’s some way for competitors to figure out the location. If it doesn’t have an online presence at all
you’ll have to be sure to give extra hints on the location at the rally start. I had to do that with one of the checkpoints for the CT rally.

Also, keep in mind that anyone who you have scout
can’t compete (or at least can’t score the checkpoints you had them scout).
