Six drivers (red GMC up through white BMW convertible) pulled up and
were patiently and politely waiting to turn right. Only trouble was,
they had pulled in behind a line of parked cars in a marked parking
lane, rather than the turning lane.
Wish I was in a position to stay and watch how long they all sat there, or if anyone
else joined them.

Wish I was in a position to stay and watch how long they all sat there,
they’re probably still sitting there.

Even if that was a turn lane, how could they miss that giant arrow mark ing out the “other” right turn lane? Unless they were all planning to park/turn right immediately after making this right turn...

Maybe they’re all Lyft/Uber drivers there dropping off and picking up...
maybe
.

Same mentality as here. Everyone else is lining up so that must be what I am supposed to do too.

I hope they all feel really, really dumb.

W e get that downtown everyday - it’s a parking strip except rush hours, (honestly, it’s not a very good design - just causes problems for two extra parking spots...) It gets really entertaining when people start getting mad and just honk at empty cars...

It is kind of annoying. I've seen so many crashes because a lane suddenly turns into parking spaces and someone realizes at the last moment and tries to do a full-speed merge into the other lane to avoid the parked cars
