I know, I know, I have a problem. But snoopy is here to fix all of them
Miyota 8215 movement,. 40mm, so considerably larger than my other marlin (34mm). I prefer the size of the 34, but come on, how can you say no to snoopy?!?! Nostalgia is a hell of a drug... But for $200 it’s a cheap hit

There are a lot worse ways to spend $200.

That watch is awesome. Boy Timex have gotten expensive. Does it at least not make the loud ticking noise with the second hand movement?

Most timex’s are still pretty cheap, <$ 5 0. This one is just more because its an automatic, not quartz

lol, they’re not for everyone. Me chanical watches are the carbs of the watch world. Outdated, inefficient, but we still love them for some reason

Love it. I had thought an automatic watch would be perfect for a wheelchair user like me. After all, I”m moving my arms all day. So, I tried a couple. Turns out they run fast on my wrist. I’m thinking it might be that I need a better movement than what Fossil puts in theirs , but I’m not willing to pay the $$ necessary to trade up.

Check out anything that uses seiko’s 7s26 movement. Its probably the best performing entry level movement in the world. Almost all seiko 5's run them, and are almost always under $100. Best part is any style you like, the the seiko 5 range will have it.
Also, double check that your fossil just wasn’t magnetized! Its a really common problem that causes them to run fast. Cheap to fix, a $10 tool from amazon will fix it. As far at I know, most fossil autos run miyota movements, so it shouldn’ t be a performance issue

Thanks for the heads up. I’ll check it out. I generally like Fossil quality in that price range, as well as their customer service, and I’ve always liked Seiko.

When I first started wearing my Seiko 5 after about a decade of not wearing a watch, I had a few people ask me why I wanted a mechanical watch. I tell them it is an intentional anachronism.

I can’t get this out of my head and will be asking my wife to get me this for Christmas. I’m curious the faces I’ll get in the board room - replacing my Rolex for a Timex.
Ironically a friend of the family would always mock that his Timex could keep better time than the R; he wasn’t wrong. This watch seems beyond fitting.

If you want the snoopy act quick! Its a limited edition and it sounds like they didnt make many. But there is lot of ‘standard’ auto marlins to choose from which won’t do out of stock for a while.
If you’ve worn vintage watches before, check out the og marlin re-issue . Hand wind instead of auto, and a much more cuff friendly 34mm instead of 40mm. But some people complain 34 is to small. I say they’re nuts!

Stupid question, how’d you get a 38 and for $200? I can only find the 40.
Thanks for the tips on the other ones. I’m a snoopy die hard, so this would be it. I should state this or Calvin and Hobbs.

So the 34mm marlin is handwind, 200 msrp. The 40mm marlin auto is 250 mrsp. You can get 20 percent off by signing up for their email list, just look for the little banner on the site somewhere
