It seems very rare that there isn’t a weekend that the Coquihalla hasn’t been closed due to an accident.. and that is during the summer months.

Since the speed limit was raised a few years ago the only difference I’ve noticed is those drivers doing 10 over are now losing it in the corners or making ridiculous moves to get through traffic.

Sounds like the study findings were pretty much what everyone expected;

Only 2% of drivers who have an accident are speeding? Sounds like Speeding is the culprit. Really!? Sounds like a ploy for more ticket generation.

I suspect the higher speed limit meant there is less ‘speeding’ but still more crashing. Then they were counted as ‘too fast for conditions ’.

“Driving too fast for conditions” was at 13%, it’s the third biggest factor. Though being distracted is the first one (and the reason for most of the others)
