Love, it’s what makes a Subaru, a Subaru!
My son and I took an epic road trip to Quincy, Illinois over the weekend to pick up the newest addition to our vehicle fleet, a 2010 Azurite Blue (DROOL) Subaru Outback 2.5 Limited. We started out at 0DARK:30 on Saturday morning in a rental car for the journey.
Much beef jerkey was consumed after this picture was taken, and we arrived at our destination without incident. I dropped off the little guy with my grandma for some quality time while I test drove and bought our new mode of vehicular transportation.
The sellers were an absolutely charming couple who owned an alpaca farm and dealt used cars on the side. The car itself spent most of its 178k miles in southern Missouri, and was well taken care of. Not a spot of rust to be seen! Huzzah!
Needless to say, I fell for it, and we were onto negotiations. Thanks to the advice of Chris Voss (former FBI hostage negotiator and all around awesome dude ), I was able to get quite a good deal, and we both walked away happy.
After a celebratory lunch, my son and I proceeded to drive down to Mark Twain Cave to meet up with a friend and her son for a hike and some fall foliage pictures with the new ride.

On the way home, we stayed with my uncle’s family and he helped me troubleshoot the roof mounted LED lights. Much fun was had wiggling crimped connectors, re-doing zip ties, and expending feet of electrical tape. The results were worth it though!!
Ok, so I forgot to actually take a picture of the front lights working, but trust me... they’re just as bright as the back ones
We had a great time there, and got another good fall picture of the new adventure wagon!
When we got home, of course I had to pose it next to my departing faithful steed. I’ve owned the black Legacy GT wagon since 2011 and it has been a wonderful car. I’m sure the new owner will get as much enjoyment out of it as I did!
Yesterday my son came running upstairs to show me a picture he drew in his gratitude journal, about how thankful he was for our new car. “I’m thankful for the blue car, daddy!”, he yelled with pride. I almost teared up, thinking of all the fun we’re going to have in this new car, blasting down dirt roads, exploring dark forests, camping next to placid lakes and flowing streams, and making memories to last a lifetime. After all, love is what makes a Subaru, a Subaru.

2010 (I believe) Outback Sport; nice! Paprika Red over Spark Silver was always an odd combo; I think I've only seen 1 or 2 in person.

Yep! 2010. Can’t say I’ve seen a lot in this color combo either, but I’m a fan of it.
