Also, who the fuck buys Pzeros for a daily driven hot hatch?
![]() 11/06/2018 at 11:07 |

My car came with P-Zeros, they make great skates in the winter.

S ome people spend money on P Zeros, some people spend them on armor. ¯\_()_/¯

I mean, my car has summer tyres too, but nowhere nearly as aggressive as those Pzeros
![]() 11/06/2018 at 11:10 |

Easily the worst tires I have every driven on. My C30 had them when I got it and they were gone within a week.

Touché.
Tho, more weight=more grip so I win in the end

Iirc the Neros are cheaper than the regular Pzeros.... so I guess its a #brand thing
![]() 11/06/2018 at 11:13 |

Seems like a good tire for an ST. I had those on my Impreza and they were very good.

They are fabulous in the summer and even in the rain (not puddles though), but once these wear out I am definitely going with a better wear rated all-season.

Same guys with the “racing clutch”
![]() 11/06/2018 at 11:19 |

Not me!
I buy them for a daily driven hotter than fuck coupe.
Because nobody else had made a run of P305/30R19 rubber since like 2015. So OF FUCKING COURSE Conti did a run of Extremes last goddamn month.

... your alignment setup sucks then. They’re actually wearing surprisingly well on my Porsche. Despite Pirelli having this whole big thing about “NO MILEAGE GUARANTEE AT ALL.”
![]() 11/06/2018 at 11:39 |

They sucked for me. They were not brand new. I switched to a different tire from a different manufacturer and experienced none of the same problems. The new tires were quieter, rode better and handled better in every aspect . I got 30,000 miles out of them. Hence the reason I had an opinion about the tires in question.

U daily ur gts?

Doesn’t mean you didn’t have the alignment wrong, but frankly, the PZeros are probably ‘meh close enough’ outside of the ‘we make one batch every 2 years’ sizes. Right now I’m estimating that I should get maybe 15-20k out of these. Which wouldn’t bother me as much if my fronts didn’t have maybe 2-3k left in them. (I couldn’t replace all four because nobody had the P235/35R19's.)

AKA: The stall-o-matic

When my contis run out I’m gonna buy the cheapest, harshest, most eco minded tires I can get my hands on.

I think you may want to look into inertia...
![]() 11/06/2018 at 11:46 |

The only time I don’t is when it’s too cold and when there’s salt. These cars were built to be driven, and they are beyond good. (Bear in mind, I don’t commute for work.)
There is a reason extremely low-mileage C4GTS coupes simply do not exist.

No I know....

I’m like on the verge of forcing myself into taking the bus or carpooling at least three times a week

Or in the case of my old car: The sounds like the clutch is tearing itself apart when trying to take off-o-matic.
Or SLTCITIAWTTTF-O-Matic for short............

In my defense, the 6-puck clutch was the only thing available for that V6 that could hold the torque. The less aggressive clutches would slip in any gear over 2nd if you tried to apply throttle.
Most of the noise came from the superlight flywheel and clutch disc mating as the light flywheel did not dampen vibrations like the oem flywheel, leading to an obnoxious howling when releasing the clutch from a stop as everything mated together.

Thanks for the tip, hot shot.
My guess is that since all other things were equal, including the tire size, the Pzero’s were the worst tires I have ever owned. Glad they worked out for you though.
![]() 11/06/2018 at 12:22 |

Honestly I think the real problem is that PZeros are so wildly inconsistent just between carcass sizes. If they were made for Porsche or Ferrari or the like they seem fine. But if you’re Joe Average commuter it sounds like they just slapped the PZero label on whatever was laying around.
But yeah, they are really fucking loud . Honestly I didn’t want them, but I had no choice and they were literally the only two tires in town.

I still like driving. But I also refuse to live anywhere that will make me hate driving, or make any commute that sticks me in rush hour.

PZero Neros can be all seasons. They are OEM on mustangs.... I bought them for my old Mazdaspeed3 because they were rated pretty decently, and I HATED them. Replaced them with Michelin A/S3s which I love as a three season tire (get winter tires!)
Not all Pzero branded Pirellis are the same compound, it’s their catch all name for a bunch of different tire compounds and treads.
Real Pzeros suck even as a summer tire (I have “N” “Porsche Approved” Pzeros on my 981 Boxster S and they suck). Michelin PS4s FOR THE WIN
![]() 11/06/2018 at 12:29 |

I don’t like those tires . No amount of “I have them on my Porsche so your alignment sucks” bloviating is going to change that opinion of mine.
Good luck.

I have contis on my Kia and I hate them. When I want it to drift it doesn’t and when I want it not to drift whoops! it slips.
Honestly.... I want smaller rims and higher profile rubber.
![]() 11/06/2018 at 12:36 |

The Pzero Nero is a 400tw all season. It is designed to be a daily driver tire and will probably last 4-5 years before wearing out. There is nothing unreasonable about putting them on a hot hatch. I know several people who daily drive on Bridgestone RE-71Rs and those are basically street legal R-comps.

Well, I like driving in traffic... specially when I have NPR blasting on my speakers, yo. But I want to take the bus because my car is a middle finger to the environment ....
![]() 11/06/2018 at 12:40 |

These Pzeros have little to no grooving though. Plus, tires here in Mexico are super expensive, a full set of my contis run 1700 dollars. Even if these Pirellis are smaller, I doubt this guy spent less than a thousand dollars on tires that will mostly sit in 10mph average speed traffic.
![]() 11/06/2018 at 15:28 |

Pzero Nero GT:
Bridgestone Potenza RE-71R:
Looks like the PZero has plenty of tread depth and groving to me, heck, it has more tread and groving than the cheap Hankooks I run on my Mini.
I don’t know what the price difference is US to Mexico but TireRack lists the PZero fo r $110 a tire which is a pretty good deal for the 205/40R17 that the FiST uses.

The factory tires are 170tw. Also, the silver and gray wheels are painted. They also chipped, to reveal the black underneath.
![]() 11/06/2018 at 22:53 |

So the original colour is black?
