The official statement speaks of the quality of cars declining. In reality I think that was only part of it . Over the years that I have filmed at the event, I started in March of 2014, I have seen the decline. Less vintage muscle, more current cars and eventually immaturity seeped in. Rev battles, people being idiots when leaving and disrespecting the staff.

If you didn’t gather by now, Cars and Coffee Dallas is dead. December will be the last one. I pray to the car gods that we will have good weather, because I am sure it would be quite easy to pull the plug prematurely.

I am certain the knowledge the show is ending cast just a big a shadow as the attendees walking around due to the low sun . I stuck to the paths lesser traveled and focused on the more vintage stuff which seemed to be largely ignored by most of the show goers. The supercar aisle was packed, so no stationary shots of super-cars this time. I made up for that when I went to two other meets that day. Cantina and Cars (where an F12 made a nice pass) and Rooftop meet which should yield some pretty dusk to dark stationary shots. I still got to edit those, but they will make their way to my page eventually.

Let me know what you thought of this month’s show and what you think about shows getting cancelled due to idiots.

This was always going to be a problem at the “YEAH EVERYBODY BRING YOUR CAR” non-curated events. You were always going to get every Mustang owning douchenozzle for a hundred miles, at least several BMW “M POWAH, BRAH” losers, the retirees with muscle cars that absolutely HATE anything and anyone made after 1974, and be packing ALL of them into one small area without any meaningful supervision.

I even said that when this whole thing started. Car shows have had issues with fuckwits for FAR longer than cars and coffee has even existed as a concept. The city banned the totally casual non-show Sunday afternoon ‘just c ar guys hanging out at the public parking lot next to the police station’ because they KEPT having problems with shitheads in muscle cars, ricer retards, and children in Mustangs doing burnouts and trying to do donuts and 60 in a 25.

Not only that, but the second you make it an official event with legally responsible organizers? All the disclaimers and “YOU ACCEPT ALL RISK” signs in the world are exactly as effective in protecting you legally as they are in discouraging idiotic behavior. Some shitwit in his Mustang does Mustang Things ™   and hits somebody? Unless you’re going to spend the rest of your life dodging process servers, you got sued. But hey! You can get insurance to cover that!

Except how are you going to pay for it when nobody pays to show up? Whoops. Well, cost of the hobby, right? Oh, and absolutely nobody will underwrite a policy for your Cars and Coffee because surprise! Underwriters know about Mustang Things™! They have heard of this Internet thing and can Google ‘cars and coffee accidents.’ Two links in and you’re already looking for a way to sue somebody for even asking you to insure this shit.

Especially after one of my favorite fucktard moments where a Porsche Boxster being driven by I can only assume the dumbest liar in Idaho spun his ass out taking a gradual right and proceeded to injure 11 people seriously.

Even the high end dealership that puts on curated C&C’s (e.g. take your 1 of 100,000 Mustang 5.0 elsewhere unless it’s actually special , and if you’ve done stupid shit you get bounced at the gate) cut way back on their events this year.

Yeah there used to be a few cars and coffee events in the Portland, OR area now we are really down to one for these reasons. Although the one remaining really shows how divided the car scene car really be. I’ve seen teens that don’t show any respect damage a big block C2 corvette roadster trying to take pics of a clapped out miata. I’ve seen guys in new Ferrari’s with the temporary plate throw temper tantrums that they don’t get preferred parking because they showed up late. Then there are the guys revving and clutch dumping. Now the staff is really good about getting plates and pics of the violators to ban them from coming back.

These events really have the possibility of being great events for people as they have a mix of everything to cater to a die hard of one area of cars and then having the possibility of learning of another segment. The problem is the stereotypes of each segment ruin the event.

inevitable. these kinds of things always get taken over by 19-22 year old douchebags, and when the event has to be canceled because of their douchebaggery, they always get pissy and mope around muttering “man, this is bull shit.”

it’s why I haven’t ever been to one of these things.

In my 4+ years of filming the event there were multiple accidents. The majority Mustangs. One of which I got on film in the first year I started doing Cars and Coffee videos , see below if you haven’t seen it already:

It is unfortunate. But it just pains me that one of the most resilient meets ever still gets hosed in the end.

The Mini was SOOOOOOO beautiful! The paint was mesmerizing . When I was editing I saw the reflection of the clouds and went... WHOA!
