So... ummm... GIB.

They also didn’t get a two wheel drive selection in the manual.

I hate driving manual FJ’s and Tacomas. Clutch pedal has like no type of feel to it.

While awesome in theory, the throwout bearing issue makes them a hard no.

The stick version if the only version worth getting. Torsen diffs front, rear and center, with full time/fully mechanical 4WD.

I’ve driven one back in around 2013 at a Toyota dealer . Not my cup of tea, but definitely a rare and cool car.

I don’t know. An automatic is so much easier to drive off road.

A manual 2nd gen Taco is one of the worst manuals I have ever driven.

What in the hell. Why would anyone want it to be full-time 4WD

The problem most people have with the manual trans Tacoma is that it drives and shifts like a truck. Everyone I let drive mine thinks “ six-speed, cool, just like a sports car!” They could not be more wrong.

You apparently have never done 20 mph down an empty interstate in Winter weather. Or down a country highway with no way to tell what is road and what is ditch in a whiteout.

I’m not sure if Toyota has had a decent manual in their non-sports car offerings. The Camry had an awful manual too.

Oh no I can totally understand why you’d want the option. I just don’t understand why no option of 2WD. My daily is AWD and whenever it’s dry I wish it was 2WD

My modern-Toyota knowledge is poor beyond the Tacoma and Tundra, but the sticks in my Celica, two pikcups, and three Tercels were largely satisfying for me.
