Not sure if this is more or less mad than importing a Lada Riva to the States.
Arguably less if it were an L-series
, because of easily available parts, but then again this is an S-series, an L-series would be more pointless,
and the madlad, as you say,
imported a Saturn.

A Niva is at least desirable as a simple off roader, whereas the Saturn is a plastic economy car, we've got plenty of those. There's so many easier choices and better American cars to import.

Weird... I think that’s an ‘00-’01. Maybe a 10th Anniversary edition?

I know right, we’ve got plenty of plastic econoboxes and in RHD to choose from. Normally people import Mustangs, Camaros, vettes , etc. But this? This is out there.

I said Riva. A Niva would be mad but not pointless. A Riva would be almost totally pointless to boot.
Akin to importing a ‘90s Kia but built by Russians.

This is crazier than the Yorkshire used car dealership which has two LHD Ford Fiesta saloons.
Though U.S. cars in Yorkshire and other places like West Sussex may be cars left here by U.S. service personnel.

Nah, this is probably more like importing an Espero. Kind of edgy in its day, but ultimately still just old GM parts underneath.

My money would be on it being brought over by a service member then not returning for some reason. I was thrown by the plate at first, but it looks like it arrived here in 2002.

We don’t need no stinkin’ lines! There’s a decent amount of these around with no lines, seems to work out fine . If it's a busy place there's lines.

Maybe he bought it from a used car dealer and wasn’t the person who originally brought it over?

Y es, it’s over 15 years old. It's an X reg so 2001, and it's a Sporting model!

Perfect! Something like that would be the perfect DD for me...not super sporty, but peppy enough, light nimble, hatchback, small, fairly reliable, easy to maintain....etc! :)
