Kinja'd!!!

I’ve had my Cube for one month. I picked it up on the 3rd of October. I’ve driven it 463 miles.

I n the same 31 days I’ve driven my ProMaster 6264 miles.

I am going to add a bunch of miles to the Cube this month when I drive to visit my mom and stepdad who live over 200 miles away, but I doubt my yearly mileage will go much over 5000. The ProMaster will probably hit 70k in its first full year of driving though, which will be around March 7th.

Anyone else put very low miles on their personal daily driver?

I’m at 6 8 0 miles in the 10 days or so that the Volvo has been working. I've written off some of those miles for work though. But yeah I just don't want to drive anything else right now, despite averaging about 18mpg with mixed driving

Yes I drive my Mazda about 5,000 to 6,000 miles a year. Consequently I have a 12 year old car with 70,000 miles on the odometer.

I only drive about 5k/yr but that’s because I’m on an island and it’s rare I make a journey that’s more than 10 miles  round trip

Well, at the moment, I’m unemployed - so mileage on the DD is very low. I have had the car 5+ months, and have put around 4k miles on it. And that includes a 650 mile round trip right before Labor Day.

I have 2 other cars, but I doubt they’ve had more than a couple hundred miles added between them in that time.

I just hit 170k km’s in the Integra. I put about 12k a year on the Teg, but for next year, I really want to focus on ‘finishing’ it and doing some good roadtrips (Europpo meet, Alps, UK, Monaco).

This year has been a huge change for me. I’ve routinely done 20k or more on my daily drivers for most of my life. Now I can go days without driving it. It's weird.

I put 46 miles on my car every day, at least. That’s ridiculously low compared to the 250+ I used to do as a courier. If I could take back everything I did on that job, I gladly would. They wouldn’t even reimburse me for parking at places that didn’t have loading docks; I got two tickets for street parking just because my car was unmarked, unlike other delivery vehicles. This is off-subject now, but still. I’m mad at myself for getting sucked into that.

I put a least 30 miles a day on the BMW I’ve already up over 10k on it in the 9 months I’ve had it. Plus like 1500 miles on the Rabbit. On the flip did I think my wife has put maybe 5000 miles on her Fit in the last year and that’s including a trip to New Jersey and back lol. She works 2 blocks from our house  so there are days she doesn’t drive her car at all, and now that I have a nice comfortable car we usually take it on trips to the Cities or Duluth.

Funny thing is her fit gets way better gas mileage and probably costs half as much to maintain, so realty I should be the one driving the little gas sipper not her.

That would be weird. Yesterday at 7pm  or so I went out to eat with my kid and it dawned on me that I hadn’t driven in 24 hours. That was weird enough

I would sometimes go weeks without driving my personal car. We would take my wife’s car if we went anywhere.

There’s been several times that I've gone days without driving my personal car. It's disorienting.

I put 13k on the Si over two years, doubt I’ll put more over a 2 year period on the TLX

With my last job my miles were crazy low. I only put about 100 miles a week on my car. I did take a new job where I’ll be doing a bit more than double that.

I was a courier too. I put 110k on my Hyundai Accent in a year and a half. There were a couple weeks where I had a stri ng of 400+ mile days.

I never got a parking ticket. I kept a roll of dimes in my car, and also I knew which “Loading Zone By Permit Only” spaces I could get away with parking at.

I have had days where I'm trying to create reasons to drive my car, and then I'm sad when I can't think of anything.

That’s a big part of it. Our other car is a much nicer car, and it's more convenient to drive it. My car has to park on the street, where his is right outside our door.

I can sometimes justify it by going on an aimless drive to smoke a cigar. The weird part is that I find myself not wanting to do that because the interior of my Cube is in such good shape. My Optima wasn't nasty, but I had no problem taking it for a long drive in the mountains so I could have a stick.  I've only had one in the Cube. And I don't think I'll have many more.

I wouldn't dare smoke the one cigar a year I smoke in the car.

Yep. Work van gets 15-20k miles a year. Personal? Lucky to do 2k. Hell my bicycle sees more (3k this year).

It was a low miler when I got it too. Nearly 12 year old Alfa with 43k on it?

Joy of living in London I guess. If I’m not driving for work it’s far more convenient to use the train, not to mention I can drink.
