In other words, the better-handling, lighter-weight, and (if it’s a 1976 at least, not sure about the 356-engined ones ) easier to work on 911.

I’d think the 356 engine 912 would at least have more room around the engine for working on it than the 911.

True - they apparently used the 616/36 pushrod engine, so yeah, much smaller heads most likely.
