May you always find yourself upwind of your local flytrap.
And may you never be a fly.
PS: 5 days ago this had nothing in it but water and an attractant...

Looks effective! What kind of attractant?

A commercial one
We’ve tried a couple of home made recipes but none have been as fast and effective as this one...

Huh. T he MSDS doesn’t say what’s in it. It just says “NON HAZARDOUS INGREDIENTS ”.

Does it work? You're killing a lot of flies, but are there just more to take their places? Are there noticeably less flies around?

I think it's largely brewers yeast or malt powder with a bright green colouring and some sort of flavouring and/or fragrance. But we've tried both bases and a range of flavouring agents and it takes longer to get going...

Yes...but the effective range is limited. So you need a few. Although the average backyard might only need a couple.
Huey protect your neighbours though as the stench can be breathtaking...

So you’re trading harmless flies for abominable stench?
I have smelled one of these once, my old unit had one on the lemon tree. It was fucked. But you usually couldn’t smell it so that’s fine

I am typically upwind of the thing...
However, given the choice of an occasional whiff or the constant buzzy rush to dig into your corneas... I'll risk the whiff.
