The Nismo 350z unlike the Nismo 370z actually had alot of work done to it. Autech seam welded the chassis and it had significant reenforcement over stock. Engine however was basically regular HR era 350z hardware. In Japan there was even a 350hp “380RS” version that retailed for $40k . They should have sold that here lol. The body work on this car significantly improves downforce, it’s basically a handling car like you would think such a thing should be.
The Nismo 370z was the opposite. Not much work done on the chassis but a slight horsepower bump.

They're good cars but good luck finding one that wasn’t ragged because of it. Worth it for the right price though.

From just a few cursory searches over the years, I feel like a disproportionate number of these came with an automatic transmission.

Stupid easy to go fast in, although it’s a bit hard to find a good one now. Many were rode hard and put away wet.

I’ve always liked them myself. The Nismo I believe also had different cams as well. It was a truly tangible upgrade and not just basic badging. I’d buy one.
