The dealer I’m buying the TLX from did NOT want my car, hell I don’t want my car...but I said I’d walk if they didn’t take it. Arguably I got a deal I’ll never get again; a CPO warrantied c ar at the end of its lot life, the end of the sales month, m y car taken in on trade at my desired price, and the OTD price I said.
In response to Tom’s article on the FP, dealers who don’t want to sell a car at a reasonable price are stupid.
Life is good, I take delivery tomorrow

Why would the dealer not want your car?

An 11 year old Civic Si with 124k miles doesn’t belong on an Acura lot...it’s also worth $2 at auction, which is where it’s headed. The manager is basically taking a blood bath on it

I see some pretty cheap listings at some of these name brand car dealerships. 11 years old and 124,000 miles seems really young to me, but at least they took it!

How is that not worth something? I figured a seven year old Si is worth at least 5k, no?

Whoo hoo! Exciting!

This is why I like to buy cars in the last week of January. Worked out pretty well with the e90.

Retail sure, but that’s pushing it. My Si also has a repainted and misaligned frint bumper, rust chips in the rear quarter, isnt stock, lowered, a breaking CMC... etc

My ‘07 Si is turning 100,000 mi, any maladies to look out for in the next 24,000 miles? So far, the only thing I’ve had to deal with is adjusting the clutch interlock switch. And the wiper blades finally wore out, Oh the horror of Honda quality.

Didn't seem like you cared that much for the Civic. You've been dreaming of a replacement for well over a year it felt like.

Wait, you bought a 2015 TLX? for real?
Well OK then. This should be interesting.

I loved it till it started becoming a headache. It was on 4 jack stands wednesday night, i spent 2 hours after work at niggt basically ripping it apart to find a leak, putting it back together, testing it, repeat.

Have you had issues with the CMC? That’s something that’s plagued me for my entire ownership

Was it the sunroof?

Good deal no doubt. Hopefully the trans doesn’t give you a lot of trouble like the other 15's have.
C ongrats and g ood luck! Hope to see a full review soon.

Headers...shockingly the sunroof hasn’t leaked on me

Worse case scenario, i warranty it and get a loaner. I beat the piss out of it when i drove it for the “test drive”

I had to look up that a CMC is clutch master cylinder. As such no I have not which is kind of problem which is odd given that I drive 2 miles to work and do probably 20 shifts a mile which I assume is high .
I had read of clutch problems due to fire wall fatigue/cracking. Any chance that is related to your case ?

I searched Honda Si clutch CMC and found this link. I guess I am luck in that mine has worked the same since new 11 years ago.

I had the CMC go twice on this car, it was causing a full lock out of 2nd and 3rd gear. Honda did a full gear box tear down, clutch replacement, replaced the cmc and slave cylinder as well.
