"MasterMario - Keeper of the V8s" (mastermario)

I figured you guys would find this interesting. I am a volunteer ski patroller at the ski hill that Stevie Ray Vaughan’s helicopter crashed on, until this year I never knew there was a memorial plaque near the crash site.
If you don’t know it’s there you’d never notice it.
The music theater is right next door to the hill.
The theater is off to the left in this picture taken from the top of the hill.
Edited to spell his name right

That’s cool. Keep looking. His guitar, Number 1, is still missing I think. Good oppo.

That’s cool. A buddy of mine was at Alpine Valley the night before and saw his 2nd to last show. Great guitarist - and there’s a cool statue of him down on the river in Austin TX. I was a big fan. RIP SRV

I can’t imagine he had his guitar in the helicopter with him. Did he?

I’m pretty sure his brother Jimmie (from The Fabulous Thunderbirds) has #1. He let Fender see it/pull it apart when they released some custom shop copies of it years ago.

Nah, I was kidding. (Cue Stig intro voice) SOME SAY #1 was buried with him and SOME SAY his brother has it.

Vaughan (with an A). The way I remember it is “there’s nothing like a Stevie Ray VaugHAN SOLO.” :P
I grew up listening to his stuff, my parents were huge fans.

That’s cool to know it’s there.
Here’s a pic of the hill from in front of the stage.

Your comment just made me remember Tom Petty is gone and I had a quiet moment. That one still stings.
