My son found my stash of Hot Wheels from the 90's and was playing with them, and I found that I had a lot of concept cars I loved but forgot all about. Here are some of the ones I had that I think a lot of us forgot were cool concepts back in the day.
1993 Chrysler Thunderbolt : Released as a concept in ‘93 it was a handsome looking coupe that looked to inspire the cab forward design Chrysler popularized in the 90's. Power came from a 4 liter 8 cylinder engine and it put out 270 horses.
Inside its center stack a navigation system with full on entertainment center with the ability for video and computer capabilities.
1997 Pontiac Rageous: Exemplifying Pontiac’s wannabe racer design language, the Rageous was a coupe with rear small doors a la Mazda RX-8 and a rear liftback that was pretty cool:
The rear opened into a sort of tailgate that had 49 cubic feet of space with seats folded down.
Inside it was even more crazy with lots of 90's gem design language. It even had an early form of music streaming: Entertainment is provided through the communication link by a CD pay-to-listen service that pipes in the driver’s favorite forms of music.
2000 Pontiac Piranha: Targeted towards young active drives at the time, the Piranha was a tall, hatch, wagon thing? It was powered by a 2.2 Ecotech 4 paired with a 5 speed auto and could have went into production.
Inside it had a highly customizable interior which made me think that GM was trying to create a PT Cruiser competitor in this.
2001 GMC Terracross: Powered by a 3.4 liter V6 and with Versatrack awd, the Terracross was innovative in that it was actually 3 vehicles in one: the suv seen above, a pickup and a 5 seater convertible, though no photos exist of it in any of these configurations.
2001 Cadillac Vizon: This as some of you might clearly see, became the first gen SRX. The Art & Science styling just wasn’t as edgy when it got to production. The Vizon was even powered by the same 4.2 liter Northstar that the SRX got as an option.
2002 Pontiac Rev: Described as a “rally inspired sports coupe” the Rev was also described as a crossover due to its ride height. It had a front hinged clamshell hood that opened to revel it being powered by 3 liter 245 horse V6 routing power to all 4 wheels through a sequential manual.

I see a lot of the first-gen Vibe/Toyota Voltz in the Piranha.

The glass on all these cars seems a bit strange though.
Not enough visibility/no structural integrity/too many complex shapes.
I guess that’s why they’re called concept cars, but it makes them seem like they could never enter production.
