House shopping is tough. My wife wants to be in the city of Minneapolis, and I want a double garage. The two things are not quite mutually exclusive but at our price point it’s really hard. The house that accompanies this garage is oh so close to the city line but is in a suburb and look at the garage/parking space!

My ideal garage would be two deep, two wide and two stores to fit a lift and all the tools.

Same here, but mine would come with a competent mechanic.

Competent mechanic need not apply. Garage is not heated, there is no plumbing, and I don’t want anyone in my garage when I am away.

Lots of parking space, too - which is nice (shuffling cars to get to the one in back will become a headache)!

Plus it looks to be 1.5 cars wide so you have lots of room for other stuff

Not bad definitely worth a look. Don’t forget a tape measure. A wide or tall car may not fit through that door.

I could use one of those. Know where to find them?

That would be pretty much the whole yard but also awesome

So you would have to mow as much and have more garage. Sounds like a win.

Yeah, it’s not one of those super narrow garages that I’ve seen at some houses. And agree about the parking space. I wouldn’t mind a little more green back there but think of all the hoopdies on blocks I could have

I see no problems at all with it. Less grass to cut/feed/water/rake.... more wrenching area. Fuck grass and fuck yard.

I’m still working on the garage part.

If you’re creative, you might be able to squeeze more than 2 in that garage, too.

my uncle has a regular 2.5 car garage, which he managed to get 3 cars into (one of which is a ‘70 Impala so we’re not talking Smarts here), so it can be done!

But if someone competent did the wrenching there would be so much less to do.

I think you’re right that it might fit 3 even...

I’ve se seen that before makes no sense to me. Unless you only have one car to put in there. I gues if you’re goal is to have a work space and a space to park it’s not a bad option, but still silly

Mine is 14'x45' with a 12' wide door. My wife gets the street-end spot because I don’t drive too much. It works well for me. My car is turning into a project and will be in the back spot for a while.

That driveway could even have a daily driver out front and out of the way.
