I haven’t used a wood pencil in a very long time, but you reminded me of the most astoundingly frustrating occurrence when using wood pencils:

That’s a shit pencil. I recommend to everyone the Mitsubishi 9850. Amazon it and buy. Writes with the best and affordable. Zero problems like that.

Yeah, only shitty pencils did that. The ones I enjoyed using were called Berol Mirado - I tried to find the ones I used but I think they must’ve been bought out a long time ago since I see them under other large brand names. They were made in Canada (I’m assuming, since it’s labelled “CANADA”) and they sharpened well and wrote well:

Also, those pencils are $2 each. If you want to see really pedantic over the top crap, check out some fountain pen reviews. I think this guy is genuinely interested in the history of little things we take for granted but for the sake of learning and dry comedic value goes too far
