I see your modern home, and raise you one fire house, courtesy of Mercer Island. Massive garage with attached living space? It’s basically my dream home

I want to buy and live in an old fire station so badly

That’s literally all I want or need out of a piece of real estate.

The dream. Closest I’ve seen so far is a painter who retired at 50, and build a bachelor pad. Big garage and big separate workshop formed the ground floor, tiny studio with a separate workout room and separate recording room second floor, and the third “floor” was just a tower, with a comfy recliner, two bookcases and a desk with booze. Cool place

Check out this totally boring and normal fire station near my house.

We have an old fire station that had to be replaced as it was flooded years ago. We now have two non central fire stations and both would be ideal for size, interior space and space round to the rear.

This is neat. That first one looks absolutely massive

Most of the ones near me are like that, just with higher ceilings. Mercer Island probably needed to ditch some extra cash at some point and funneled it into the station

It’s the standard scheme for new fire stations. By American standards it’s probably not very big.
