I’ve seen these sell for nearly 10k in garbage condition in the PNW. They’re rarer than people who aren’t totally fucking assholes (the joke is that they are extremely rare)

I think this deer wants to see what happens when you cross a Toyota with a Winnebago.
(That is a Winnie, right?)

So basically an aftermarket 4Runner before the 4Runner? Neat.

I get their rareness being a thing, but people pay too much money for rare vehicles that aren’t that special. Neat, but not THAT special.

C. van Tune, if you are an auto journalist this is a good name to have.

On the other end of the spectrum, I had a Bronco Centurion park next to me today. Man, those things are gigantic.

In an America where a 3 year old Chrysler 200 can be found for less than a 17 year old Tacoma, don’t even try to make sense of it.

Minnie Winnie is the correct answer;
There was one a few doors down from our in laws place this Christmas.. I’m sure they laughed at me slowing down in the 3rd Gen to get a better look at it..

You could get up and make a sandwich while the 22 tries to get through an intersection.. I never imagined looking at a westy with speed envy.

I wonder how many people ever considered swapping a larger motor into these curiosities?

God the 80s were sick. Before polish and

I’m not sure if you remember I owned one of those for several years. That blue color as well, some aftermarket wheels but basically that one. 22R, 5 speed. It was almost stolen once but they couldn’t get it started with their screwdriver, so they just took all my tools!
4WD Toyota Owner Magazine is all lusty about theirs. These were really crap from the cab back. Bad chopper gun fiberglass work that weeped outside to in, it was never dry inside, the cab to body seal never sealed, even after coaxing it with silicone. The rear hatch door was never right, not damaged, just never fit right because fiberglass moves too much I guess, and the suspension was merciless.
I fixed it up as much as I could afford, took the boys camping a couple times, then sold it on to own some other Toyota. The kid I sold it to promptly crashed it and never fixed it I heard. A little sad, and sometimes I think I would like to own it again, but not really.
What I really want is a 4x4 Chinook. Yeah, that will be much better! And put the 2.8 Cummins re-power engine in it.
Thanks for the memories!
