Just look at it
The F50 could hit 100mph in 6 seconds (allegedly) and sounded incredible, but journalists considered it heavy and slow.
Fun fact: according to Wikipedia it has quite possibly the worst mpg of any sports car in history, with a whopping 10 mpg highway. I like to pretend this is the reason why more people don’t talk about it.
Another fun fact: this is the first vehicle I’ve seen that is claimed to be much faster than it actually is. Need for Speed Hot Pursuit II claimed this car could hit 100 mph in a “mind-numbing” (or some other exclamatory phrase) 6 seconds; Veyron fast. Wikipedia claims nearly 9, as hardly anyone performance tested it.
I still think it’s one of the best looking cars ever made, even though it kind of resembles a designer fashion accessory from southern California.

Would F50 over Enzo

I think the F50 suffers from the fact that the F40 was so much better. At certain angles I think the F50 might be the ugliest Ferrari but the LaFerrari tends to be uglier overall. But, I tend to think most modern Ferrari’s are ugly

You know, I’ve seen the F40, Enzo, and LaFerrari in person, but have still never seen an F50 in real life.

Car and Driver went through hell to get thier hands in an F50 because the owners kept coming back with “Ferrari told me this isn’t a good idea.”
https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/ferrari-f50-road-test
...then found out that it redlined at 194, topped 197, so the 202 claim was just to get a higher number than the F40's 201.

IMO one of the ugliest Ferraris ever made (and I think most Ferraris are ugly, including classics like the 250 GTO). Is it unfair to dismiss a car just because it’s homely? Perhaps. But what’s the point of a super car that isn’t attractively styled? In this segment, style and performance go hand in hand.

I’be always liked it, ever since I did a plastic model of it as a kid. I like it more than the F40 as a result.

I agree with you. At certain angles the LaFerrari is striking but overall it’s not an attractive car.

The F50 is probably Ferrari’s most hardcore road car ever.
CF tub, structural stressed-member V12, pushrod suspension with no rubber bushings, the list goes on and on.

I like that Ferrari tried something different rather than just upgrading their flagship like McLaren might or something. They’re cool and they’re unique

It’s one of my favorite exotics of all time, and is what I feel the most special car from Maranello.
Fun fact: back in June of 1997, I was at the Brian Redman/Merril-Lynch Int’l Challenge at Road America. My friend and I were riding around the track in the back seats of my dad’s friend’s ‘86 911 Turbo, which was awesome already.
We pull into pit lane to swap out the front passenger with another. A couple minutes later we get ready to go back out on the track, and as I look behind us, an F50 is right there, swapping passengers. We freak out, naturally.
But then something crazier happens: a SECOND F50 pulls out and around the one directly behind us, and hammers it on to the track! Shortly after, the other F50 gave chase, and now here we are on the racetrack, with many other exotics, including an F40, but getting to see and hear TWO F50s playing cat-and-mouse at full song, all while in the back of a 911 Turbo doing triple digits on the track’s long straights. Life couldn’t get any better for two 12-year-old car-crazy boys.
It was so surreal, and so long ago now, that it almost seems like it was only a dream and never really happened. But it did, and I will never forget that amazing day.

I think it’s hideous, F40 all the way. I’d take a Gumpert over it too.

Love me some F50, the mesh back where you can see into the engine bay, the sound, crazy looks, removable top. I think my list goes 288 GTO, F50, F40.

Late to this party but the F50 is my favorite Ferrari too. I really don’t understand the hate on the car. It is bat crap crazy, in a very good way.
F1 v12 with 5 valves per cylinder, Manual transmission, manual steering, push-rod suspension, v12 mounted to the firewall, spherical bearings in place of bushings, 8500 RPM redline, big ass wing, carbon tub, etc, etc.
No turbos (like the F40 and all modern cars), no flappy paddles, and no electronic nannies. There will never another car like it.

I agree, it might be the only large car that reminds me of a go kart
