RIP Hugh Hefner. There was more to this man than just a promiscuous lifestyle and a magazine with breasts in it.

Not to mention he held a fundraising gala at the Playboy Mansion to help save the Hollywood sign from being bought by mansion developers.

He also helped create the Censorship In Cinema course at the University of Southern California, and routinely donated to Children Of The Night, a non-profit that helps to rescue children from prostitution.

Even Jezebel had (some) kind words about his legacy. Think about that for a moment

As much of a lightning rod as he was, he did some good in the world. It took a somewhat of a visionary to publish Beaumont’s The Crooked Man in 1955.

I remember one issue that had a piece on mutual funds that was actually pretty helpful in terms of keeping up with inflation and whatnot.

People just don’t see what he’s done. Steve jobs was an asshole and got critical acclaim before his and after his death. Hue fought for the people and will be remembered as that guy who made millions publishing naked women. You don’t start a whole foundation based in Democratic and civil right for nothing. Life can be unfair.
