Reminds me of a wolf spider. Those little ravenous bastards will eat mice if they get a chance. Also they blend in with most darker beige/brown carpets. I had one spook me at work. It then proceeded to spook multiple people in the office since it blended into the carpet pattern so well. Damn thing took half an hour to hunt down.

Grab a chancla and splat.
That spider wouldn’t have lived long enough for me to have taken a picture.

WOlf spiders on the ground, hunstman spiders on the walls.....Do you live in a condensed australia? Are there drop bears above you? Is everythingwithin arm’s reach poisonous and/or venomous?

Are you sure it was hairy? Most of them aren’t that hairy, but female wolf spiders carry their young on their back and it can look kind of like hair. It’s wild to watch if you spook them because all the little babies go flying off in this bizarre cloud of living dust.

The PNW, especially the wet side of the cascades, is the closest thing to Australia in North America.
Scarier-still, if some of the dangerous insects in Australia were to be moved to somewhere in North America, the PNW is where they’d thrive. Basically from northern CA through BC would be a dream environment for things like the Sydney funnel-web spider.
