Holy hell, this thing makes every other Range Rover ever made look like a delivery van. It may very well be the best looking SUV I have ever seen.

I forgot this was even coming out.

Yeah, they’re ridiculously good looking.

I’ve been waiting on the edge of my seat waiting for it, and even I didn’t know it came out

Taking the U out of SUV! But who puts anything in the back of their new Range Rover anyway. Maybe the nanny puts a Bugaboo stroller back there, but that might scratch things up.

Yay, something new for me to beware of while in downtown Bellevue crosswalks.

looks like my safety shoes.... probably smells better tho...
(pretty sure my shoes are in violation of the geneva convention by now...)

nah, still looks like a futuristic ford explorer to me

That is really flashy looking in person.

Are those the optional 22 inchers?
Yes, the Velar has optional 22-inch wheels.

Your opinion is bad and you should feel bad.

Yup, I believe this is a First Edition or Launch Edition or whatever it’s called.

As did I ... is this a reworked Evoque? And damn do I hate all that frippery, and those wheels are a rolling statement that you have more money than sense. Back basics, I say ...

I think they should of put the VELAR badge on the front though as a nod to the old pre-Range Rover launch VELAR vehicles.
Though the first VELARs had the lettering on a black plate.

I dunno, it still feels kind of forced to me, like they baked an Evoque until the edges oozed over—IMO it looks way too long, low, and car-like to be a Rangie—this should be the shape of a Jag, not a LR. From the side, it’s literally just a station wagon. Eh, maybe I’ll change my mind if I see it in person.
I love the interior immensely, though, but it would be a serious PITA to use any of it while driving
I think Volvo’s Sensus is much better designed for minimal distraction since it allows a visual prioritization of only the necessities in a very partitioned manner.

I saw one the other day, in a lovely dark blue, I was awestruck by how good looking, expensive and “right” it looks, take that Bentley Banatagananana!

I love the longness and lowness of it, and can’t care all that much what they call it.
But yeah this should’ve been the F-Pace. It has all the style inside and out that the Jag lacks.

killin all dem cafsssssssss.
And I haven’t seen these in a bit, but they had Jag and LR glasses to give out at one point. I haven’t owned a Rover or Jag in years, but that’s not going to stop me from going

I might be in the minority, but I think Range Rovers have become progressively more ugly after the 2nd generation.
I remember liking the 2nd gen back when I still had some baby teeth. But nothing after 2002 has looked even remotely nice imo.
This one is no exception, I’m afraid.

I like when a car looks like it’s doing 90 mph standing still. This is supposed to slot in between the Evoque and the Sport right?
![]() 09/21/2017 at 20:46 |

Yes

I still don’t know whether this is supposed to be above or below the new, similar-appearing Discovery. Two months ago I was looking at their prices, which were about the same. So I don’t know why this exists. Evoque (cabriolet, two-door hardtop, and four-door hardtop), Discovery, Range Rover Sport, and Range Rover should be *quite enough* if Land Rover doesn’t want to spend capital to make a utilitarian Defender to compete against utilitarian trucks from Toyota, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Isuzu, Mahindra, and GM.

They occupy equal ranks within the company, but the Disco places an emphasis on bing big and practical and off-roady while the Velar is sleek and sporty and urban.

I think that Land Rover should have made the Discovery much different, more utilitarian, and cheaper.
