One of my clients has been building this for a few years. Just bought a matching trailer with some massive knobby tires. So much want.
Is the metal plate just for... Looks? Place to set drinks? Patching a hole with what was on hand at the moment?
I wish I could tow something like this in my Miata

XJ? I don’t know Jeeps much. Maybe they are a better option than a Montero...

I am so jaded by my ‘85 two door I had that I would never willingly own another XJ again. By far the worst vehicle I’ve had the misfortune of owning. Full disclosure, it was the 2.8.

Metal plate is for steps, but I don’t think it’ll hold up that well on the hood or tailgate (tailgate is fiberglass fyi). I miss my XJ.

The kid in the 80s who didn’t know any better, that’s who. When I first found it in ‘89, I couldn’t find any negative reviews when I googled it.

98 and up had a metal tailgate I believe. I miss the ZJ I sold for a profit.

Yep - with the facelift they swapped out the fiberglass tailgate for the fancier rounded-off stamped metal tailgate.

A little farbricobbled but still nice and functional. I like

I always wondered about those off road trailers...
Wouldn’t traction be something you want to limit on a trailer? Why put the knobbies on there? I’d think smooth tires would be easier to drag, regardless of the surface?

That is a beautiful vehicle. Though I really really want a Land Rover Defender 110 Doublecab as my overland vehicle. Like
Add one of those nice teardrop overland trailers for long trips
Short trips I would just bring a tent.
