Mine is always covered in cat prints. I plan to remedy that with a good coat of carnauba. Last time I did that, she slipped and slid like it was a water slide. It was hilarious.

I just spotted some dirt I missed on one of the spokes so I’ll need to go out and do some touch-up work. A little more time with the trim restorer goop is also in order; it was getting dark and cool and thus time to pack it in and head inside. I also need to do the whole clay bar and polish/wax routine; water still beads off nicely but I know there’s more that can be done - all it takes is time and energy, and I have all but two of those things...

No had to replace the timing chain guides. So everything in front of the engine comes out. Did guides,chain, camshaft chains and tensioner, camshaft sealing rings, vanos gaskets, check valves, osv,rebuilt vanos from dr.vanos. still have to do so much. And I’m worried that shavings from the guide ruined something but I won’t know til it’s running.

This is not my car. But my car is a matrix xrs 6 speed that’s white. It is very dirty inside and out, and the little monkeys have already ground various snack foods into the upholstery. But I love it. The extra speed and 2000 rpm change the car from a lovable but anemic grocery getter into a real joy to drive and own in general. It has snow tires as well, which work incredibly well (in the snow. Less good elsewhere).
