Next step, move the seats at the touch of a button from the driver’s seat, while driving.

If only it was safe for the kids to ride with their backs to each other...

Odyssey has had the multi-position for about 18 years. The difference is how they slide now. Each generation gets better.

You can’t? They are just advertising how the seats can be installed with a gap between them? How is this magic? If the kids are prone to causing trouble why would you not leave them spaced apart all the time?

The MPV’s slid too, along that track on the floor.

Right, they both came out with it in 99, with the introduction of the 2nd gen for each.

EXCEPT! The odyssey 2nd gen was released in the fall of 98, whereas the MPV 2nd gen debuted in June 99.

Pedantic win!!!

Did the old Ody’s slide like that? Never been in one long enough to find out.

Yeah. I had a 99 for about 5 years. They had rails in the floor with a plastic cover that I promptly lost.

Did they have a bar to lift like a forward-backward manual adjusting seat? That’s how the right middle seat is in an MPV.

Funny thing is, my 2010 Odyssey has the same function. Although I have to take the seat out and put it back in. And like you said, you’re not going to change the seating configuration around much.... so this isn’t much use to me.

Like the rear-facing seats in station wagons? We need those to make a come-back, badly.

Thinking side-facing middle row, actually.

No, it was a little plastic piece that pivoted to pull a cable
