Or not.

Kinja'd!!!

Definitely not.

I picked up a Cobra CB and 5' tall K40 antenna for $20 on the list-o-Craig today. The Gambler is going to take us deep into the boonies, so being able to call for help is a good idea.

Under three weeks to go until the Gambler!

This event sounds super cool. I just found a Corolla wagon that is a prime candidate for it too.

people crap on CB but truthfully if you have a good antenna and its SWR tuned its a pretty useful tool.

Having a CB is strongly encouraged by the Gambler organizers. It makes sense to me. A ton of people who don’t know each other will be bombing around the middle of nowhere. Cell phones won’t do us much good.

That’s pretty well the same setup I’m running in Saint Jimmy. Although I went for duct tape instead of the L-brackets because resale value.

When you “hammer down” your “roller skate” will your “hand” (Steve) be putting your “ears on?”

Those brackets are just pieces of metal pipe hanging tape. I used that and the same screws to remount the turn signal and marker lights back onto the car.

Pretty much, yeah.

Note to self: download “Eastbound and Down” to my phone.

I don’t feel like going outside in the rain so this is the best photo I’ve got. The green wires are for the a/c. CB is on the right. It stayed firmly in place for like, 5000 miles, including some agressive driving through twisties.
