This is not how to comply with the rules of this challenge.
Simple ground rules: You get eight cylinders...
...to share between all three cars in your garage. You must actually use all eight cylinders, too.
Just to make it harder, every car must have a piston engine (no all-electrics or Wankels to cheat), and it must have at least three wheels, and must not lean into corners (the intent here is no motorcycles or tilting three-wheelers, but three-wheel cars are OK, even if they’re legally motorcycles).

BMW i8, Mini Cooper manual with sport suspension and a tune, and fiat multiair?
That’s one of the few modern garages I can even manage existing with 8 cylinders over three cars. Older cars or Kei cars make it easier I suppose.

Lexus GS430 and two Tesla P100Ds.

And here’s my own entry:
DD: 2009 Volkswagen L1 Concept, 2 cylinders:
Hauler: ~1990-1995 Subaru Sambar Dias II, 4 cylinders (yes, four, in a kei):
Fun car: Morgan Three-Wheeler, 2 cylinders:

That GS430 is gonna need to be a GS350 or 450h, and the P100Ds get a 1 cylinder generator, if you’re gonna play that. Try again. ;)
![]() 09/09/2017 at 21:55 |

Just the Teslas, I don’t want the generators.

For the 2-cylinder, you could get an i3 REx or a Morgan Three-Wheeler, too. It can certainly be done with all modern cars, but it’s harder. (I myself actually used a kei for a 4-cylinder , and then non-keis for two 2 cylinders.)

No. I need more cylinders.
![]() 09/09/2017 at 21:56 |

So Mitsubishi Mirage
Tamo racemo (I think these are 3 cyl)
Morgan 3 wheeler.

The Tata Revotron 1.2T is 4-cylinder, so I’m gonna say try again: http://www.autocarindia.com/car-news/tata-revotron-12t-versus-rivals-engine-comparison-370051

Chevy Sprint 5-door
Chevy Sprint Turbo
Fiat 500 TwinAir
Done.
![]() 09/09/2017 at 22:00 |

Unless I’m miscounting, that’s nine cylinders total.
![]() 09/09/2017 at 22:01 |

Honda Beat, BMW i8, Morgan 3 wheeler. I’ll just never take more than one person anywhere ever.

Morgan 3-wheeler
Twintech Formula V-twin
‘18 Ford Focus RS limited edition

Damn. I thought they had 3. Well how about an Autozam AZ-1

Turns out I don’t know anything about the little Tamo.

Ford Fiesta ST. 3 Cylinders.

Pffttt, easy! Classic FIAT 500, FIAT 126, FIAT Seicento Sporting! :P

...now I’m kinda wishing I used the Toyota instead of the Morgan. Ah well, the Morgan at least rewards interesting cars being made today.

...and two piles of performance and spare parts, each containing at least three spare wheels.

A Dusenberg Model SJJ
Piper Comanche 400. It has a 11.8L flat8, & 3 wheels. When its on the ground (& on its wheels) it does not tilt.
To top it off I choose a Rover SD1.

...I’m actually having trouble finding info on the 1911 Holden. More info on it?
Interestingly, you’re the first to do a Polish Fiat, the first to do a single-cylinder, and the first to do a 5-cylinder.

Using a Kei for a 4 cylinder? Bold move.
If I had a 4 cylinder in there it would’ve been a 540e, Volvo V90, Golf R, Focus RS, or GLA 45 AMG. I gotta have something fast and maybe mildly practical in there.
I think the Audi A8 even had a hybrid with a 4 cylinder for a while in Europe but it was super slow.
![]() 09/09/2017 at 22:11 |

I actually said that because I thought the Mirage was four cylinders...
![]() 09/09/2017 at 22:11 |

You misunderstood the rules, and are over by 16 cylinders. Try again - you get eight cylinders to share between the three , not for each vehicle. ;)
![]() 09/09/2017 at 22:12 |
|
No, that one’s a 1.2 3-cylinder.
![]() 09/09/2017 at 22:13 |

Those piles of parts better actually be cars with engines in them...

Saab Sonett II: 3 cylinder 2 stroke 850cc
Ford Friesta: 3 cylinder turbo 1 liter
Honda Z600: 2 cylinder 600cc
I would consider changing out the Fiesta with a Honda beat, but it’d be nice to have one car that can carry more than one other person. Heck the Fiestas even a Foru door.

I LOL’ed
Funny thing is, I have actually owned two Sprints (both non turbo) and a Fiat 500. Not at the same time.

I’ll allow the plane, and fantastic, you brought a radial.
![]() 09/09/2017 at 22:37 |

Nope, I specifically said piston engines.
![]() 09/09/2017 at 23:06 |

Alright then...
For fun: Saab 93 GT750 (2 Cylinders).
For ‘practicality’: Subaru Rex Supercharger VX (2 Cylinders).
For driving a normal car: BMW M3 Sport Evolution (4 Cylinders).
It was a close battle between this and a Lancia Delta Integrale. If there was no three car rule I’d replace the first two with one.
Good challenge btw, you made me dig up some exciting two cylinder cars.
![]() 09/09/2017 at 23:11 |

The GT750 is a 3-cylinder, so you’re a cylinder over, still.
![]() 09/10/2017 at 00:04 |

Ok, I could’ve sworn the 750 had a bored 93 block - but I must’ve been mistaken.
So, Ursaab.

built in Geelong, Victoria, Australia
single cylinder, steam powered
no pics
came from a book called “Aussie Cars”
unable to find my copy of the book to scan the page for you

The 93 also had a triple, the Ursaab and 92 were the only twins.

Only need two cars: 1950 Ford Pickup
T-bucket hotrod.
One Engine, flathead V8. I’ll just get really good at swapping it.
If I get tired of swapping, Ecoboost 4 cylinder for both.
