I thought for a second that it must be an Onion article.

Wait, you mean it’s not?
Beats nuking it, I guess.

“Encouraged to shoot flames at the storm”
This seems like the best way to deal with 150mph winds

It was reported last week someone had the idea that if everyone in Florida bought a desk fan, they could blow the hurricane away.
Like seriously, WTF is wrong with your education system that anyone at all thinks either of these are viable plans.
I always thought when people said or wrote, ‘I just can’t even’ we’re simple or something, now I realise now that there are times when something is so stupid, you want to say something but your brain is still trying to comprehend what it’s heard/read that no words to describe what’s going on could be found.

The desk fan one was circulating as a joke, at least when I saw it

I don’t wanna click on it. It’s an Onion article right?

How is this not a joke? Like, the falling bullets will probably kill more people than the hurricane.
If this is in fact real, it’s the most Florida thing ever.

Nope.

There is no way this is real... Though I take issue with the title, many very smart gun nuts around, the problem is it’s the stupid ones you hear about...

This is the state in which it is fully legal to set up a firing ramge in your yard, in close proximity to neighbors.

I’ll take “Journalist didn’t get the joke for $500 Alex.”

The campaign was started as a joke, and I don’t thing that anyone is taking it seriously from the article, except some of the commenters, who are taking the opportunity to laugh at Americans.

The source is obviously a parody.

Apparently gag facebook groups are news now. You do realize this is a joke, right?

The English always had crappy senses of humor in general.

its still a joke, reported as news because journalistic integrity amirite?
![]() 09/09/2017 at 20:46 |

It’s written as a joke, but that doesn’t mean anything - in Florida it will happen anyway.

Thank heaven

It’s a joke, people. Now the “twerk Irma away” and “take bath salts and eat Irma” ideas, though, those might be real.

I was just thinking that if true this was not a gun thing, but a Florida thing that involved guns.
