The slightly odd thing about this car is that it was wearing a plate frame from a local luxury used car dealer - so it’s probably worthless now, if they serviced it.

Which dealership?

Read the scaaaaag part in a clarkson accent

That is the correct way to read it :)

Ultimo Motors

It’s amazing how many places like that there are. I love to drool over the inventory at those places, but I’d never buy from one.

Is there another way to read it?

Worthless you say? I’ll take it off their hands then.

Ultimo has a couple of locations, including one just a few minutes from my house, in Westmont, so I drive by it all the time. They always have crazy cool inventory (the only rivals to it for cool inventory along Ogden Ave. are Porsche, Aston Martin, and the Lambo/Bentley dealer that I can think of).
I have a friend who bought a car from a similar type of dealer a few years ago (Tab Motors in the city, although they stock more ‘typical’ luxury cars like C and E classes, 3/5 series, etc.) and he has nothing but good things to say about them - so they can be pretty good, and the pricing *seems* to be better than what you would pay for a CPO car from the branded dealer.
I know nothing about Ultimo, but I certainly see their plate frames on a lot of cars in my area.

No, I’m just prepping my story for when I make the owner my lowball offer.
IDK if it’s an F1 or a real 3 pedal car, though - I’d really only want the latter.

no

About a 10% chance of it being a 3 pedal car, as those are very rare. It being in the US makes me think the chance is even smaller.

If you saw how it was being driven, you’d lower that likelihood even further. Puttering along in the right hand lane of a limited access highway, with traffic passing on the left.
I didn’t look up the % split between transmissions - - sad that the 3 pedal take rate was so low...

If you travel further east, there are Ferrari/Maserati and Land Rover dealers in Hinsdale.

It’s already worthless because it’s ugly and bloated and derpy and has too much wheel gap. Just like every other 612 Scaglietti.

Yup - they have pretty small lots, though (especially the LR dealer), so there isn’t much out front of them. The Ferrari/Maserati dealer has a little more, but I tend not to go that way down Ogden as much as I go west.

I have to say, that’s about the most ‘sleeper’ Ferrari that I’ve ever seen. Between the sort of meh shape, and the fact that it’s black, it doesn’t stand out much.

Damn, what a shame of such a vehicle.
Yeah, of the 3200-something produced, only 300 or so were manuals. Guess which owners are going to be in for a nice pay check at auction in say 10 years time.

Also, that thing had ridiculously skinny tires, IMHO.
But on some level, I kinda like the 12 cylinder GT Ferraris - because they typically don’t look like Ferraris. I prefer blending in to standing out. Problem is that they’re bloated pigs - although the 612 Scag is aluminum at least.

I also enjoy looking at the inventory at Lucky Motors on Roosevelt in Villa Park, and Windy City Motorsports on North Ave. in Lombard.

I like plenty of other 12 cylinder GT Ferraris, but not the 612.

It’s polarizing, to say the least - I like the 456 and 365 GTs a lot better.
I guess the 612 is better than the 400/412, at least? Not saying much there...

Ooh, I just looked online and they have a lot of cool stuff, too.
And Windy City has a few classic cars, too- neat!

Windy City really has my number. There are even Squarebody Chevy trucks and Broncos there. The prices are super high though, of course.

Have you been by here? Ogden and Finley/Belmont. They have a few older Chevy/GMC pickups, too, including at least 1 squarebody shortbed. Most of the rest are a bit earlier.

Yes! I forgot about that one, but that’s a great place to drive by too.

I pass by there on my way to the gym. I live near Downers Grove North HS.

I keep meaning to drop by and drool for a bit, but never seem to be by there when I have the time.
The ‘65 Galaxie XL ‘vert they have listed actually interests me (not that I have a place for it).
I’m just a few BNSF stops closer to the city, myself (not far from Ultimo motors really).
