Guy’s prelude washes up in the hurricane. Brodozers use it Willy nilly to test their masculinity and their dad’s trucks. I hate people

I mean... The car was scrap anyway, right? That much saltwater, that much sand? Let’s be realistic here

I mean yes, but I think the guy had plans to use what was salvageable. He didn’t even manage to get an insurance thing yet. It’s the general idea that they went and used it without permission and even knowing it was ok.

when the exact same community could have triumphantly been posting about digging it out with their trucks to clean up the beach

“I managed to pull out this car by myself,” is more impressive than, “I smash lol.”

That’s true enough. But to go out and bust up someone’s property without asking their permission just because “it’s garbage already” is still a dick move.
But I’m assuming. For all I know they might have been in on it. They may have said fuck it, run it over themselves and started the whole thing. You can’t assume that either, though.

Well, that’s a pretty damning photo of the truck, grounds for a hit and run, license plate and all. Think his insurance claim might be even stronger now

Ugh, poor Prelude. If it had been a VTEC i’d be on my way down there now to slash some tires and bash some heads.

Unless the body below the sand was completely caved in, it was still repairable.
Good luck getting an insurance company to pay for the repair instead of writing it off, but the guy could have taken the check and put the effort in on his own.
What a crushing thing too. “Your car was flooded in the hurricane.” “No, wait, there it is! It looks repairable!” “Nope, some jackasses crushed it with their trucks for fun.”

Would that actually be evidence of vandalism of private property? Even if the owner claimed insurance, totalled, it’s now the insurance company’s property?

I’ve seen him pop up on some forums and Facebook groups. I think he’s weighing his options on it.

I’m gonna be so Instagram famous.

I mean, I get how it’s shitty and all, the truck owners were certainly in the wrong here.
Do you have evidence that the guy was intending to repair it? All I see is sand and salt flooding everything of conceivable value. The Engine compartment, the interior, the suspension, all electronics, are all going to be screwed.

I have no clue what the guy was intending to do, but even if he was intending to scrap it after going to town with a sledgehammer, it was his vehicle and his choice.
Everything you said that would be screwed? It’s not necessary in a race car.... Rebuild the engine with a carb setup, rip out the soggy interior, upgrade the suspension, and it would be an amazing track day car.

Fair enough, hadn’t considered a race car build

Of course he made his account private.
Stay classy, hijueputa.

i hope the insurance company goes after this guy on principle. though their arms are going to be full for a long time. It wasn’t ddavidson91 right to crush it. like it wouldn’t be some jackoffs right to throw a giant kegger adn further trash a damaged house.
