My family owned a 77 and an 82. The 77 was a beast, the 82 was junk.

It seemed to be really hit and miss with them - I think GM built them at about a dozen plants, which probably explains a lot.

Build quality suffered considerably, as well as ride and engine performance. That 77 hauled ass. By 82, they had gotten so heavy that the engine couldn’t keep up if it wanted to.
