That’s $5.34/Gallon for you commies.

$1.41 Canadian = €0.96. That’s very cheap! I’ve seen it >50% more expensive here.
My medium priced next door station has it for €1.539 a liter. That’s $6.94 (US) per US gallon or $2.25 (CAD) a liter.

We hit $1.099 here. It’s absurd.

I paid 1.61L for 94 here the other day. (Vancity)

And you know what will really bring your piss to a boil?
Not looking forward to the 17-20 cent markup on premium when I fill.

We produce more oil, but the US uses more oil.

So what? Go bite your pillow! We are paying 2.05 CAD or whatever you call your monopoly money.

I visited my wife’s family 80 miles from me over the weekend, and when I was almost home, my car dinged at me that I was below 1/8 of a tank. That dinger is so damn annoying.
Yesterday when I went to the supermarket that also happens to sell gas, I decided to fill up even though 93 was $3.05/gallon and GasBuddy said that Costco by my office was $2.79. I could’ve waited to fill up at Costco after work today, but the GasBuddy price for Costco was like 28 hours old, so I figured maybe the price at Costco had already gone up thanks to Hurricane Harvey inflation, but hadn’t been updated in the app yet.
I just checked the price at Costco now and...I should’ve waited to fill up after work today and saved about 4 bucks on the roughly 15 gallons of gas I bought.

TIL Juke actually takes premium. Seems weird considering all its competitors with turbo engines all take regular.

It can run on 87, but fuel economy goes down & it runs like crap.

My Focus runs fine on regular unleaded... And I have to fill up tonight. On my drive to work, I saw that gas was at ~1.27 at the station I often go to.
For me it will add around $8 to the cost of a fill up.

A short while ago, I did some quick research on the premium charged for premium fuel... and how much of a premium is charged for 91 octane varies greatly.
I saw markups as little as 10 cents and as much as 25 cents.
Shell and Petro Canada seemed to be the worst for huge markups on 91 octane.
And if my memory serves, Costco had the lowest markup.

And for people like me with a regular old Focus with a regular non-turbo 4 cyl that runs fine on 87 octane, I’m only paying around CAD$1.27.

Yeah, Costco is great - like 10 cents/L less great - but the lineup by my house is huge from open to close. Waiting 15-20 mins for a pump to save a dollar or 2 doesn’t seem worth the headache, especially since they won’t take my cashback Visa!
The Pioneer and PetroCanada by my house are both 17c markups.

It’s not about crude oil. It’s about gasoline. Canada imports 300,000 barrels a day of refined gas and most/some of that comes from the U.S.
I’ve never verified it, but I’ve heard that during the Oil crisis. America was producing enough crude to replace what we lost in the embargo. It was just we couldn’t refine it fast enough for it to become gasoline.

$5.34/gallon?!?! Dafuq? The worst I have paid was $2.99/gallon for 93!

Oh yeah, same with my Solstice and it isn’t even turbo. Just kinda surprised a car marketed as and economy compact crossover uses it.

Oh that makes me feel much better having just paid AU$1.21 per litre for 91 octane. Canadian and Oz dollars are roughly at parity ATM.
Bargain!!

near me, costco is the cheapest premium and a tier one fuel.
