Ash is literally falling from the sky due to fires east of the Cascades.

Noticed that too. Some pretty strange lighting as well, but if it keeps the temperature below the expected 96° I won’t complain

My aunt lives in Cle Elum and she’s been posting photos of a big fire there. This is pretty normal for late summer in Montana, we just tend to forget it happens every year.

As bad as it is here in Spokane it’s hard to think that it’s actually much, much worse in other areas. The rain can’t come soon enough.

Fires are a part of the natural cycle. It is sad people lose their homes. The fire itself is just part of it all.

Meh. As a long time San Diegan, it’s only bad if it’s heavy Ash snowing and the air smells like death. That, or your backyard palm-trees are on fire like giant Tiki torches. All things that happen.
I shit you not, this was daytime.

Eagle Creek fire is under 20 miles from my house now. Started getting heavy ash fall yesterday. I don’t think it will reach anywhere in Gresham. Hopefully everyone in Corbett gets out safe and they get this fire under control soon.

Eagle Creek fire was started by some dumbass teenagers playing with fireworks though.
