How Hyrdrox was around 4 years before Oreo but everyone thinks they’re an Oreo ripoff. Oreo is the ripoff damnit, they just claimed to be first. They’re like Alexander Graham Bell, or Karl Benz, or Christopher Columbus. It’s bullshit. Justice for Hydrox.

Well, Oreo sounds much better than “Hydrox”. Oreo sounds like a snack. Hyrdrox sounds like a chemical used for cleaning.

Digestive isn’t a very good cookie/biscuit name either, but it’s still one of the world’s most popular cookies/biscuits.

Let me grab a satchel of hydrox from the general store while I buy some petroleum distillate for my motor carriage, poste haste.

And they’re taaaaaasty! They could be called anything, and I’d still eat them because they’re a one way ticket to flavour country!

They have an unfortunate name.

19JRC99   has a point - Hydrox sounds like something that might have been used to gas my ancestors. But I recall that, at some point, Larry King had a rant himself about Hydrox. Allow me to demonstrate with a Larry King game (see Kevin Pollak):

“Next up, Pia Zadora for the hour. But first, I have to say that I like Hydrox better than Oreos. It’s like Miralax and Ex-Lax - is there really a question about which one you use? Pacoima California - you’re on the air.”

Not in America, they’re not. That’s a terrible name for a cookie.

They’re not a rip off, they’re a poor substitute. Because Oreos taste better.

Hydrox is the RC Cola of the cookie world.

When you call it a digestive it reads like its meant to be eaten when you can’t take a shit.

The name ‘digestive’, was when biscuits really took off, the idea was to aid the digestive system. However many years later it was found not to be the case that they did, but they kept the name anyway and is a great all round biscuit.
