I found myself in great danger today while visiting the Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto. Look at all these Mustangs waiting to attack:
The picture only shows about a quarter of all cars.
This one was nice though:
The Canadian International Airshow was quite nice too, sadly it was very hard to take pictures of the airplanes (neither my iPhone nor my Canon with my 18-55 lens managed acceptable photos). Pictures below were taken during the show of the Snowbirds:
Also, when in Canada, do as the Canadians do, so I had some Poutine for dinner (I know, real Poutine is from Quebec, but I haven’t had the time/opportunity to travel to Quebec yet).

I see the cops have “the scene” tape deployed.

Looks like it was a great day.

It sure was! Actually I was planning to arrange all kinds of stuff today, but one of my roommates told me about the event, and I figured why not go today and try to mingle myself with the Canadians.

Sometimes the best days are when you just roll with it.

I completely agree!

Do you resent Canada for doing that to some perfectly good frits?!

Nah, it was quite delicious actually. So I’ll let it slide.

Shooting the airshow today consisted of:
“Contact!”
> tracking contact
>> blinded by the sun

Oh not grated cheese poutine...
Not too bad, but nothing is as good as cheese curds

I will demand curds next time I get poutine ;-)

Yeah the sun did make it harder (I stopped trying though, as I would only get pixel-y planes with the 18-55)
I was really impressed with the stunts of the Snowbirds. I’ve seen an airshow near my hometown in the Netherlands, and the stunts were nowhere near this impressive.

Welcome, I hope you did not freeze last night arriving. The snow birds are always neat, the livery on them is fantastic.

Yeah the snowbirds have always prided themselves in close formation flying. Few squadrons have a dozen aircraft in a single demo team all at once.
