Some skinny kid decked out in athletic wraps, sweatbands and underarmour gear squats four goddamn plates, ass to grass, with a pause at the bottom. Perfect form. No belt. Such beauty is rare and fleeting. For non gym bros(and broettes), that’s 405 pounds. Gahsjfkfnrjdg

If it’s a young kid going for what appears to be an ego lift, I’d say giving him a side eye is a good thing.

wait how do you put plates onto a squat?
(forgive me the only forms of exercise I know are swimming or riding a bike up a 15 mile long incline)

This! Loading up the bar with plates. A standard Olympic bar is 45lbs, and generally when someone says “plates” they’re referring to 45lb circular weights that slide on either end. Observe fitness model below (boob job not required, but you do you)

How many reps?
That kind of weight with no belt is scary. Realistically, a good belt is not about back support, but more about containing internal core pressure (supporting your flexed abs) under heavy load. And that’s a mind blowing heavy load.
I admit, I’m jealous. I hit a wall (and injuries) at 250 with my squats, and 305 with my deadlifts, and wonder if I’ll ever break past them, with age making me more injury prone.
