$6000US with 100k miles. Oh crap. Not a reliable DD. Not a reliable DD. If I keep saying it, my checkbook stays closed, right?

you can’t go wrong with a Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag/Mondeo

Are they actually unreliable? Or are they OK because generic ford drivetrain?

It’s just a Ford. How hard can it be?

Drivetrain should be ok, electronics are still largely Jaaaaaaaaaaag

There is only one way to confirm or deny this theory of unreliability. It’s for him to buy it and DD it and then report back on it.

Do it. In my small sample size of two people, they’ve both had reliable baby Jags.

Then again, for $6k you could get a pretty nice BMW wagon, with a manual no less.

I was going to say, weren’t they the ones with the Ford running gear? I can’t imagine it would be TOOOO bad :P

True, but the Jag is just different. I mean I’d buy the BMW over a Jag, but everyone has different tastes.

Haha, exactly. I’d buy this for $2,500 and save the rest for inevitable maintenance. But the jag is nice looking.

bad idea for my wallet ? damn right !

It should be mostly Mondeo. I don’t think it’s that risky at all. You should take it seriously.

It’s about as reliable as the Mondeo it’s based on, surely?

Do it ! I’m seriously considering this :
