My speedometer is giving me issues. Sometimes when I drive down the road the MPH is 10/15mph too slow on my gauge clauster. Other times it is fine, and occasionally it is more like 5mph off. This appears to only be an issue with my speedometer the rpm gauge is fine (when gps says I am going 55mph the gauge correctly reads roughly 1700pm even if my speedo says I am going 35mph).

However, once or twice the entire gauge clauster has failed in me and I receive no data whatsoever.

Any ideas?

Impossible. These vehicles never ever malfunction in any way whatsoever.

Sounds like two separate issues. I’d imagine the vehicle speed sensor has gone bad, and another issue is causing the dash to flake out on you. Could be a bad cluster or ECU.

Niche industry on the gx cluster. LEDs burn out and the stepper motors break. Check a vendor like this

Not usually. In a lot of automatic ABS vehicles, there is no dedicated VSS. It’s just an ABS sensor. Do you have an ABS light on?

No. I do have the little (!) light on though

Could very well be an ABS sensor. That’s my guess. Nearly impossible to diagnose which of the 4 without a special OBD reader for the ABS system.
