"mazda616" (mazda616)

The van blinked “low tire” at me this morning. Three tires are overinflated. They’re between 40 and 46 PSI and the door sticker says 36. One tire, the right front, is at 30.5. Hence the TPMS light. Sigh.
Waiting for Enterprise to open so I can call them. The only other options with as much space as we need were that ghetto ass Nissan or a Suburban. Maybe they’ll be nice and let me have the Suburban? It has a higher payload capacity, anyway.
The Mazdas view the Dodge with total contempt.
Phyrxes once again has a wagon!

Enterprise near me opens at 7:30 am during the week, hope your local one is similar.

You can’t empty those tires and fill the low one? You clearly have the tool to check...
Mind you, any excuse to swap it for something better would be worth it. Since you’re heading out on a trip and this is delaying loading, I’d probably just deal.

Why swap vehicles? Go to the air pump at a gas station and drop the three and fill the one.

On the surface, I agree, however, who’s to say that tire doesn’t have a slow leak?
I’ve had Enterprise do that to me already (gave a car with a slow leak, and hid it on delivery by over inflating the tires); it worked out ok, but why deal with it if you don’t have to.
On a personal car, I’d just deal with it.

Don’t worry about the over inflated tires. You actually want to run max sidewall pressure when your vehicle is fully loaded. My truck’s sticker is 35, but I run 44 psi because that’s what my sidewall says.
Underinflated, however, that’s a problem. If they’re going to stick you with that beat down Nissan, I’d just throw some fix a flat in the Caravan and keep an eye on the tire pressure.
If they’re going to give you that Suburban, then you officially win.

Enterprise wanted me to take it to the local tire shop they have a contract with. So, I did and they got me in immediately and it checked out okay with no leaks. Just a fluke. So they aired it up and put all four tires to spec. We are on the road!
They would’ve swapped me for another vehicle, but it being Labor Day weekend, they had no other options.

They would have swapped me for another vehicle but it being Labor Day, they were pretty much totally out of cars.
